Researcher, artist, photographer and filmmaker Leo Erken frequently visited the countries of the former Soviet Union in the years 1987-2003. His photo collection consists of two parts: books (with an emphasis on Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union) and ‘personal photos’ from the first century of the medium. The collection contains amateur photography and photography commissioned by the people who appear on it. His studio is currently working on a virtual reality in which (for the time being) ten stories about the lives of women in the period 1860-1945.
