ORANDA LOCI; Collaborative project Otani and Nieuwenhuize
As OTANI NIEUWENHUIZE, Shinji Otani and Johan Nieuwenhuize have been collaborating since 2015.
Building up a common memory about the overlap of the Japanese and Dutch culture is key to their work.
With their latest project, ORANDA LOCI, they focus on the influence of the Dutch on the Genius Loci, the spirit of a place, of Japan.
In this lecture they talk about the artistic proces of their work as artist duo and about working with and within a different culture.
They will show their new and previous work and speak about how they were able to connect to the local community.
